Beijing, Mar.3 (ANI): China intends to expand international cooperation through continued high-level visits to foreign countries, the country's top political advisor, Jia Qinglin, revealed on Saturday.
Delivering a report on the work of the country's top political advisory body-the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, Qinglin told delegates and media in Beijing's Great Hall of the People that China also intends to further develop traditional friendships, increase mutual political trust with relevant countries, and strive to win the international community's understanding of and support for China.
He revealed that over the past year, 39 Chinese delegations had visited 56 countries on state visits or to attend international conferences.
China had also hosted 11 visiting delegations from 10 countries and one regional organization.
Qinglin informed that a delegation of the CPPCC National Committee had undertaken an official visit to the United Nations and addressed the 19th Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development.
China had also successfully held the ninth and tenth sessions of the Sino-EU Round Table in collaboration with the European Economic and Social Committee and promoted the establishment of a round table exchange mechanism for the economic and social councils and similar institutions in BRICS countries, he said.
He said that the CPPCC National Committee will support the China Committee on Religion and Peace to participate in the World Conference on Religion and Peace and other international conferences and forums. (ANI)
