The exhibition for the German-born scientist will last till June 17, and residents and tourists can visit for free.

Einstein, who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921, was regarded as the father of modern physics and one of the most prolific intellects in human history.

More than 200 displays of Einstein, including videos and replicas, will be featured during the three months.

According to curator of the Historisches Museum Bern, Jakob Messerli, the first such exhibition was held in Bern, Switzerland in 2005 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the theory of general relativity developed by the theoretical physicist, China Daily reported.

Messerli said that to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland, an Einstein exhibition was held in Beijing in May, 2010.

It has been also held in Guangzhou and Hong Kong respectively, and is now in Wuhan, the fourth and the last place in China.
