Obama attends four New York city fund raisers

New York, Fri, 02 Mar 2012 ANI

New York, Mar.2 (ANI): U.S. President Barack Obama attended four fund raising events here on Thursday night.

Obama was expected to rake in between four to five million dollars.

According to the New York Daily News, the big-ticket event was a 35,000-dollar-a-plate dinner at ABC Kitchen, an E. 18th St. organic restaurant run by celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Obama also attended a nearby ABC Carpet and Home showroom, where the young, hip-looking crowd was hosted by "Parks and Recreation" star Aziz Ansari and jammed to music by The Roots and Ben Folds.

At an earlier event at a Manhattan penthouse, Obama said: "What's happening in the Middle East and North Africa right now is as profound, as transformative as what happened when the Berlin Wall fell."

He also argued that, to ensure Israel's long-term security and a "lasting two-state solution," it will be "necessary for us" to "continue to reach out to people of goodwill on the other side." (ANI)
