Washington, Mar 2 (ANI): Former teen idol David Cassidy is planning to turn the upcoming show he was set to co-headline with friend Davy Jones into a tribute to 'The Monkees' star, who suffered a massive heart attack and died at his ranch in Florida, on Wednesday.
Cassidy claims that without his Manchester born friend, "the world seems a little less light."I have a concert coming up that Davy and I were supposed to do in Miami next month. I'm going to do it, and do a tribute to Davy Jones... I'll miss him," Contactmusic quoted him as telling Entertainment Tonight.
The former Partridge Family star, had first met the pop star and actor when his career was on the rise and had turned up on his doorstep in Hollywood to introduce himself in the early 1970s.
"I loved the guy. He became my friend later and I admired his talent, respected him a lot for enduring the kind of backlash to having that kind of fame. He was a deeply caring guy," he added.
Cassidy told the news show that he had heard that Jones had apparently "been having problems breathing" in the days leading up to his death. (ANI)
