Seychelles diplomats visit Amity University

NOIDA (UP), Mar.1 (ANI): Seychelles High Commissioner (Designate) Waven William and First Secretary J.C. Adrienne visited Amity University, NOIDA campus on Thursday to discuss various possibilities of cooperation between Amity University and universities in the Seychelles.

Both delegates were welcomed by Amity University Vice Chancellor Gen. (retired) Jai. K. Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Balvinder Shukla and several heads of institutions.

They were introduced to various areas of academics where Amity and Seychelles universities can join hands and form collaborations. Emphasis was placed on subjects such as horticulture, microbiology, marine sciences, student/faculty exchange programs and training programs.

High Commissioner designate William expressed a keen interest in the activities promoted by Amity University and the wide area of academic intervention it offers. He expressed admiration over the immense progress of the university and his intent to go forward with a successful and fruitful collaboration between universities of Seychelles and Amity.

Vice Chancellor Singh laid emphasis on the various technical courses that Amity University offers to its students and how students from other universities would benefit through student exchange programs.

Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Balvinder Shukla mentioned various activities where Seychelles universities would like to participate in.

He said that Amity University would be more than happy to extend a hand forward to collaborate in any doctoral programs or joint projects with Seychelles universities.

An introduction was given about horticulture, marine science, tourism, microbiology and the Amity Innovation Incubator programs in order to highlight the progress of these departments and their activities.

Amity said that it was ready to offer help in areas such as teacher training, corporate education, pan-African network, farmers' training, banking and finance. (ANI)
