Colin Firth 'stays cool and calms sons' during mid-air tussle

London, Thu, 01 Mar 2012 ANI

London, Mar 1 (ANI): Colin Firth stayed cool and calmed his sons despite being caught up in mid-air fight, which led to armed cops storming his plane after it landed in London.

The 'King's Speech' star was jetting back from the Oscars in LA with his wife and young sons when two people attacked each other at 30,000ft over an alleged theft.

Cabin crew on the British Airways jet could not contain the fracas and radioed for an armed police response unit.

But Firth stayed ice cool and calmed his two sons Luca, ten, and eight-year-old Matteo and his wife Livia, 42.

"Passengers were in meltdown when it spiralled out of control. It was scary for flyers who feared for the safety of the flight," the Sun quoted a source as saying.

"Colin Firth showed his usual cool and was more concerned at the well-being of his wife and kids.

"It was far more dramatic than anything at the Oscars," the source added.

Cabin crew tried to break up the row before calling cops at Heathrow for an armed response unit to board the flight on arrival.

Passengers, including model Jodie Kidd, 31, were then kept in their seats as officers with guns stormed the plane after it landed.

Cops said no arrests had been made, but inquiries were ongoing. (ANI)
