Ghaziabad, Feb 28 (ANI): Right to Information activist Arvind Kejriwal was unable to cast his vote on Tuesday, as his name was not present in the voters' list
Kejriwal, who returned to Ghaziabad District to exercise his franchise, found his name missing for the voters' list in the on going assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
"I always have my name in the voters' list. Though I did not check the website, I assumed that my name would be listed," he said.
Kejriwal, who earlier in the day, had to return from airport to exercise his franchise here after journalists questioned his Goa visit when polling was being held in his area of residence in Uttar Pradesh.
Kejriwal had told reporters that the Goa programme was made a month back and was not aware that it would clash with polling dates.
"I always caste my vote and we decided on Goa's programme almost a month back, we had made a mistake then. We did not keep in mind the polling dates and the dates clashed with our programme. I was feeling very guilty this morning, when I was leaving for the airport. When I reached the airport, I spoke to the organisers and they agreed to postpone two programmes, so I came back to vote," said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal had recently drawn flak for his comments on lawmakers.
While addressing a public rally in Greater Noida city of Uttar Pradesh on February 25, Kejriwal labelled Indian parliamentarians as robbers and rapists, adding that he did not trust the country's lawmakers. (ANI)
