Shivraj Patil to inaugurate 12th assembly of audit institutions tomorrow

New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): Rajasthan Governor Shivraj Patil will inaugurate the 12th meeting of the Assembly of Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) at Jaipur tomorrow.

Rajasthan Chief Minster Ashok Gehlot will release the Assembly logo.

ASOSAI, a regional group of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), aims to promote understanding and cooperation among member institutions through exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of public audit.

It encourages, promotes and undertakes publication of research papers and professional articles in auditing and related fields. Established in 1979 with 11 members, the ASOSAI has now grown to 45 SAIs.

Prior to this, the fourth three day meeting of INTOSAI-Donor Steering Committee concluded on February 25. This meeting assumed significance as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India was seen as a major supplier of capacity to the Supreme Audit Institutions, which were looking for support in this area.

The delegates to this meeting got a glimpse of the capacity building potential of Comptroller and Auditor General of India through a presentation on its training infrastructure and the various capacity building projects executed bilaterally by SAI India in developing SAIs. (ANI
