London, Feb 26 (ANI): Pippa Middleton could be one step closer to becoming a duchess as she reportedly went on a skiing trip with her old friend George Percy, heir to the ancient Duchy of Northumberland.
According to the grapevine, the former Edinburgh University flatmates are more than just good friends.
The Duchess of Cambridge's sister has been single since she parted ways with former England cricketer Alex Loudon in November after a three-year romance.
Pippa, 28, has always asserted that her long-standing friendship with George is platonic.
But apparently her mother Carole is eager to see the friends hook up and seated them together at a New Year's Eve party at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.
"They are very close, but they are coy about whether they are dating," the Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.
"They took a British Airways flight to Geneva on February 3," an eyewitness claimed.
"They were with a group of friends but sat next to each other and seemed very close. They appeared to be snuggling at one point and walked off the plane together. All the signs were that they were an item," the eyewitness added.
George, 27, who is seemingly smitten with Pippa, already has the title Earl Percy and a trust fund with an income of 250,000 pounds a year.
His family's 1,000-year-old pile, Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, featured as Hogwarts in two Harry Potter movies. (ANI)
