Dubai, Feb 26(ANI): England has leveled the three match Twenty20 series against Pakistan after beating them by 38 runs on Saturday at Abu Dhabi.
England had set a target of 151 runs and in reply Pakistan was bundled out for 112 runs in 18.2 overs, The Telegraph reports.
Jonny Bairstow starred for England and made an unbeaten 60 of 46 balls. His clean striking and expert shot selection were key attributes during his batting, as they were when he impressed so many on his England debut in last September's one-day international win over India in Cardiff.
Steven Finn was the pick of the bowlers from the England team, claiming three wickets. Only all rounder Shahid Afridi could put some resistance to a resolute English bowling attack, top scoring with 25.
England captain Stuart Broad was delighted by his young side's performance and said: "I am excited by the future of this team and I see myself as a guy who will back players and pick guys who will perform in pressure scenarios."
"We do not have a huge amount of time before the next World Twenty20 but we also want to win series along the way. The next match is a huge game and we will put ourselves under pressure by treating it as a World Cup [final] scenario as we want to go home with the trophy," he said. (ANI)
