Islamabad, Sun, 26 Feb 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Feb 26 (ANI): Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir, who served a three-month term at the young offenders institute in Weymouth on spotfixing charges, has returned back to Islamabad.

After his arrival at the airport, he refused to talk to media, The News reports.

His British lawyer has accompanied him to Pakistan.

Sources say she was here to appeal against a five-year ban slapped on him by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Amir was released from the jail at the beginning of this month and the UK Border Agency (UKBA) handed over his passport to his solicitor three days ago.

Amir, and fellow fast bowler Mohammad Asif along with captain Salman Butt were jailed for taking bribes from bookie Mazhar Majeed to bowl no-balls in a Test match against England at Lord's in 2010. (ANI)
