Washington, Feb 25 (ANI): Gerard Butler's manager has revealed that the actor has left the rehab centre where he was being treated for substance abuse.
Butler, 42, had been quietly receiving treatment at the Betty Ford Center.
"Gerard left Betty Ford early this morning and he's healthy," Butler's manager Alan Siegel told TMZ.com.
The actor's problems were triggered by the physical demands of shooting '300' in 2006.
Apparently, the actor began struggling with pain management, and the problem became exacerbated while filming 'Of Men and Mavericks,' when he was badly hurt on Dec 18 during a surfing accident.
Butler realized he was relying too much on prescription drugs and decided to head off a full-blown addiction by entering Betty Ford three weeks ago.
According to sources, Butler also developed issues with cocaine, but the root problem appears to be the injuries and pain management. (ANI)
