Madhya Pradesh STF claims it has cracked journalist murder case

Bhopal , Fri, 24 Feb 2012 ANI

Bhopal, Feb.24 (ANI): A Special Task Force (STF) in Madhya Pradesh has claimed that it has cracked the murder case of a freelance journalist and his family with the arrest of five persons.

Chandrika Rai , his wife, son and daughter were found murdered in their house in the state's Umaria town on February 18.

The STF also claimed that they have also rescued Hemant Jharia, the son of an engineer of the state public works department, who was kidnapped by those detained.

Umaria Police claim that Jharia was rescued without his parents having to pay ransom.

Investigators believe that Rai had a role to play in the kidnapping incident, and adde that a dispute of how much money was to be shared between him and the kidnappers may have led to his murder along with members of his family. (ANI)
