Bangalore, Feb.24 (ANI): The second day of the Chintan Manthan program organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party's Karnataka unit has been cancelled after former chief minister B.S.Yeddyurappa and his supporters allegedly decided to boycott proceedings in the wake of the party's central leadership's reluctance to accept the latter's demand to reinstate him as chief minister by February 27.
Yeddyurappa and his supporters have been having meetings with the central leaders of the BJP since Thursday, but the discussions are stalemated as of now.
The ruling party in Karnataka has ,however, said that there is no crisis in the state or within the party. The BJP said that the second day of the Chintan Manthan program has been cancelled due to by-polls in Udupi District.
The first BJP government in south India has been facing a series of setbacks throughout its tenure. Its image has taken a beating.
With the resignation of lawmakers Laxman Savadi, C C Patil and Krishna Palemar, who were caught watching porn, the list of BJP ministers in the state who made dishonourable exit in the last four years has risen to seven. (ANI)
