London, Feb 24(ANI): U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called for the resumption of ties with Pakistan after the latter's parliament completes a review of its ties with the US.
Clinton told Pakistan's Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar that U.S. would like Islamabad to implement once it completes the review of its ties with the US, including he special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Marc Grossman, Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides and the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, Rajiv Shah.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the U.S. would respect the parliamentary review but wanted to prepare for a return to "structured conversations" between both sides, once Pakistan parliament completes a review of its ties with the US.
It added that the US wanted "to get ready to get back into business with Pakistan," The Wall Street Journal reports.
Tensions have escalated in US-Pakistan ties over the deadly November 26 airstrike in Mohmand Agency. (ANI)
