No communication breakdown between Indian cricketers, says team media manager

Sydney (Australia), Fri, 24 Feb 2012 ANI

Sydney (Australia), Feb.24 (ANI): Flanked by all-rounder Irfan Pathan, Indian cricket team media manager G.S. Walia on Friday rubbished reports in the media of a breakdown in communication between key Indian cricketers, and said there was absolutely no need to over analyse such developments, if any.

Walia avoided comment on the reported differences between skipper M.S. Dhoni and his deputy Virender Sehwag, limiting himself to saying that there was a need for all concerned to be positive and to move on.

It maybe recalled that Sehwag and Dhoni have given contradictory statements in the press about the team's rotation policy during the Commonwealth Bank one-day series.

While Dhoni had said that playing three seniors like Sehwag, Tendulkar and Gambhir was costing the team runs in the field, Sehwag had said that Dhoni had told him he was resting the seniors because he wanted young players to get more experience and chances.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly had a word with the team management and players to set their house in order, and get on with playing good and positive cricket in the one-day series.

Walia said that no team meeting has taken place on the reported differences between the players.

He said the players have told him that there are no differences and that there is no communication gap. (ANI)
