New York, Feb 17 (ANI): Barack Obama and Sarah Palin may be on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but they have one thing in common - they are both admirers of Jeremy Lin from the New York Knicks.
The former Alaska governor held up a Lin shirt in New York a day after President Obama praised the basketball player.
Palin, who played basketball in high school, posed with the highly coveted Lin gear outside her Manhattan hotel.
Holding up the blue jersey with the already iconic No 17 stencilled in orange on the back, Palin smiled, waved and signed a few autographs for fans.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney revealed Wednesday that Obama too is a fan of the NBA player.
"The President is an avid sports fan and particularly avid basketball fan, and we were speaking about Jeremy Lin on Marine One as we flew here to Andrews Air Force Base this morning," the New York Daily News quoted Carney as saying.
"It's just a great story and the President was saying as much this morning.
"Obviously terrific for the New York Knicks, but it's the kind of sports story that transcends the sport itself," he said.
Obama, a noted NBA fan, has made sure to catch Lin's ever-more incredible highlights.
"It's a great story and yes, he's very impressed and fully up to speed... I know he's watched Lin play already," said Carney. (ANI)
