Washington, Feb 17(ANI): A light aircraft that had strayed into the path of US President Barack Obama's helicopter was reportedly found to be packed with cannabis after it was intercepted by fighter jets.
A police search found the Cessna aircraft loaded with 640 ounces of cannabis and a motherlode worth around 160,000 dollars.
It was earlier intercepted by F16 aircraft and forced to land at Long Beach airport, just south of Los Angeles.
The police have arrested its pilot and at least one passenger after US federal agents interrogated them.
The pilot has not been identified and it is not known whether they have been charged with any crime.
According to a US Secret Service statement, Obama was never in any danger during the incident.
"I can confirm that a plane entered the airspace of Marine One, the restricted airspace, and then was landed at Long Beach airport," The Telegraph quoted a Secret Service spokesperson, as saying.
"The occupants were held by local authorities until agents could respond to interview them, and it was determined that there was no protective interest," he added. (ANI)
