Washington, Feb 16 (ANI): Kate Upton, who recently took over the reigns as 2012's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl from Irina Shayk, has been linked to Mark Sanchez for months, but neither of them have confirmed their relationship.
Sanchez is an American football quarterback for the New Jersey Nets of the National Football League (NFL).
"She says they are friends," Us magazine quoted an insider as saying.
The insider also revealed that they met through Upton's elder sister.
"They started hanging out about 7 months ago.
"He is always at her apartment and has dropped off gifts and flowers for her . . . It isn't serious," the source said.
However, the 19-year-old model remained coy about the rumours when TMZ asked about their status.
"I don't know.
"It's whatever you think!" she said.
For his part, Sanchez dated actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler back in 2010.
"Mark and Kate Upton are friends and he thinks its great that she is having so much success," Sanchez's source said. (ANI)
