London, Feb 14(ANI): Former Olympic champion and Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has reportedly consulted one of Europe's most controversial doctors to seek treatment for his leg injury.
The revelation comes after he withdrew scheduled first race of the season, the Camperdown Classic in Kingston, Jamaica, The Daily Mail reports.
Bolt secretly visited the expensive Munich clinic of Hans Muller-Wohlfahrt, the unorthodox doctor who regularly injects patients with calf's blood.
Sources within Bolt's Jamaican training group, the Racers Track Club claimed that Bolt is suffering from a niggling leg injury.
But Bolt's agent Ricky Simms denied such claims, saying:
"People can put two and two together and make five. Any speculation is ridiculous. He was in Europe doing work for a sponsor - a great opportunity that will become clear in due course - and called in for a regular check-up in Munich."
Muller-Wohlfahrt has treated several top athletes, including Paula Radcliffe, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Ronaldo and Boris Becker though his injections have been labelled as 'Frankenstein-type experiment' by the head of the US Anti-Doping Agency. (ANI)
