Lehamann says 'X factor' in Mitchell Marsh will make him 'exciting' cricketer

Melbourne, Sat, 11 Feb 2012 ANI

Melbourne, Feb 11(ANI): Former Australian cricketer Darren Lehmann has said Mitchell Marsh has "the X- factor" that will make him a Test star.

"He's got the X-factor - you see those allrounders like Andrew Symonds and Watson who have the X-factor. Marsh has got it, and he has got it in spades. He is going to be a really exciting cricketer for Australia for a long time," news.com.au quoted Lehmann, as saying.

Hard- hitting Marsh is considered to be future Australian Test captain with the Western Australian sources tipping him to be the next state captain after Marcus North retires.

Mitchell had hogged limelight during his Twenty20 debut by smashing five huge sixes against South African attack.

Marsh is determined to maintain the fun factor in cricket.

"The times I hit the ball hardest is probably the times when I don't try to hit the ball hard. It's just timing, when I was young I always looked up to Damien Martyn because he timed the ball so well," Marsh said.

"I still have to get physically stronger, Test cricket is still the pinnacle I really hope that is something I can put my hand up for. But I will always be a practical joker and someone who loves a laugh. That's just my personality and I never want that to change at whatever level I am playing," he added. (ANI)
