Anelka slams Villas-Boas for humiliating him during last days at Chelsea

London, Feb 8(ANI): Former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has slammed current manager Andre Villas-Boas for humiliating him during his last days at the club.

The French striker still cannot believe how his time at Stamford Bridge came to such an undignified finish and has blamed Villas-Boas for it.

Anelka claimed he was made to train with the youth team and forced to use separate changing rooms away from his first-team pals before his shock move to China.

"Ever since I was punished, they put me with the youngsters. I've got all the kit and equipment that professionals have, but they put me in a separate changing room - that's football for you," The Sun quoted Anelka, as saying.

The striker was a key part of Carlo Ancelotti's league and FA Cup double-winning side of 2010 and was the Premier League's top scorer in the 2008-9 season with 19 goals.

But a beleaguered Villas-Boas callously discarded him and defender Alex after it became clear he was not going to sign a new contract.

Anelka also termed football as an unkind sport and claimed that there were no friends in the sport.

"One day, you can be there scoring goals and doing all you have to do for your club, but the day you leave, there is no pity. That's why the day you do decide to leave you have to do what you have to do, and have no sadness either, because there are no friends in football."

"That's the truth. It's sad to say, but that's the truth. It's a collective sport, but it's also very individual," he added. (ANI)
