Indian football team's visit to Blackburn cancelled over fears about Kean's future

London, Wed, 08 Feb 2012 ANI

London, Feb 8 (ANI): Indian-owned English Premier League club Blackburn FC has cancelled a visit of India's football team over fresh fears about the future of club coach Steve Kean.

The Rovers had invited India to their training complex to use club facilities and to mingle with Kean's squad.

But India has now booked a trip to Dubai as Kean is under pressure to keep his job.

The Rovers' latest humiliation took place on Saturday when they were thrashed 7-1 by Arsenal. The club's Indian owners - Venky's - are believed to be considering Kean's position, The Daily Star reports.

All India Football Federation general secretary Kushal Das said: "Blackburn have told us that this is not the right time to visit the club. They are going through some management problems at the moment."

Rovers have won just one of their last six matches to slump back into the relegation zone. (ANI)
