Sydney, Feb 5(ANI): Australian fast bowler Brett Lee will miss the rest of the international cricket season due to a broken foot.
Australia team doctor Trefor James has revealed that Lee broke his right foot while fielding in Friday night's T20 international against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Lee was struck by a ball in the last over of his spell but was somehow able to complete the over.
"He was able to complete the over, however the foot became more painful and swollen the following day. An X-ray has confirmed a fracture of the small toe," News.com.au quoted James as saying.
"We now expect Brett will return to cricket in four to six weeks," he added.
No decision on his replacement player would be made until after Australia's first one-day international against India at the MCG. (ANI)
