London, Feb 3(ANI): Former Australian captain Steve Waugh believes England cricket is still in good shape despite being thrashed by Pakistan in the UAE.
England have already lost the series 2-0 and will play the final Test to prove a point to their critics who have slammed them for their inability to play quality spin bowling.
"English cricket is in a good state, despite what happened in the Middle East against Pakistan," Express.co.uk quoted Waugh, as saying.
He believes England team is capable enough to take 20 wickets and win matches under their able captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower.
"They have the ability to take 20 wickets and win Test matches and under captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower they have a great work ethic and they play for each other. So I think they're in very good shape."
"Australia have had their struggles in recent times, but they have come back well in the last series with India," he added. (ANI)
