Dubai, Jan.31 (ANI): Left-arm spinner Monty Panesar has balmed himself for England's second Test humbling by Pakistan.
Panesar declared that people should "blame me" as the search for scapegoats continues after England was bowled out for 72 by Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.
Panesar took 6-62 in Pakistan's second dig.
But he claimed he should have done better in the first innings after snaring one victim in 33 overs.
The Sun quoted Panesar, as saying: "I was pleased with a solid performance in the second innings, but I would rather have taken no wickets and we'd won the match.
"I want to contribute performances that help England win Tests. In the Pakistan first innings, Graeme Swann carried me," Panesar added.
"I should have taken wickets at a quicker rate. Thirty-three overs with one wicket possibly cost us the match and maybe I let the team down," Panesar said.
Panesar reckons England's batsmen will conquer their spin phobia though.
"We're determined to put in a strong performance in the Third Test in Dubai on Friday," he said. (ANI)
