Tamara Ecclestone axed from music festival for 'treating 6-figure job like holiday'

London, Jan 30 (ANI): Tamara Ecclestone has been dropped from a presenting role at a top music event after organisers claimed she was treating the job "like a holiday".

The 27-year-old elder daughter of F1 mogul Bernie Ecclestone had been lined up to host the prestigious Sanremo Music Festival in Italy from February 14 to 18.

The festival will feature performances by Queen guitarist Brian May, and singer Patti Smith.

The festival is screened live on Italian television and the heiress is believed to have negotiated a six-figure fee after being approached by the organisers.

However, according to Sanremo's artistic director Gianmarco Mazzi, she later refused requests to attend a series of press conferences and photoshoots this month to promote the event.

"In the end she said she would be available only from February 12," the Daily Mai quoted Mazzi as saying.

"That's when I thought to myself enough is enough - she is treating this like a holiday on the Italian Riviera," he said.

A spokeswoman for Ecclestone denied she was dropped, insisting she pulled out after organisers said they needed her for longer than had been agreed.

"They came back with a complete schedule change that would have meant an extra two weeks' work," the spokeswoman said. (ANI)
