Top Chinese auditor cautions against fiscal and financial risks

Beijing, Sun, 29 Jan 2012 ANI

Beijing, Jan 29(ANI): The National Audit Office (NAO) of China has cautioned against possible risks in the fiscal and financial sectors this year.

The NAO also warned of potential risks concerning resources and the environment, social stability, outbound investment and an information-based society, the Xinhua reported.

"China is still facing strategic opportunities in economic development, but is not yet balanced, coordinated and sustainable, and there are still uncertainties in global economic recovery," NAO said.

The auditor did not elaborate on details of the potential risks but told the country's local auditors to pay close notice to these risks and augment efforts to expose other stern challenges and perils in social and economic development.

"In the past year, China's local auditors focused on potential risks in public finance, investment, and state assets management, as well as information security, food, environment and social stability, which have helped the government improve preventative measures," it added. (ANI)
