Benghazi, Jan 29 (ANI) Libya's ruling National Transitional Council (NTC) has announced a new electoral law abandoning the provision of reserving 10 percent of the seats for women in the constitutional assembly, and lowers the age limit for candidates to 21 years, a committee member Mustafa Landy said.
It also stipulates 136 of the 200 seats in the assembly should be from party lists and the remaining 64 for Independents.
The law will form the basis for the formation of the country's constitutional assembly, Xinhua reports.
The NTC legislative committee passed the electoral law in Benghazi on January 28, the official added. (ANI)
