Lucknow, Jan 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to woo the voters in its election manifesto, which it released here today.

The manifesto was released in presence of a group of BJP leaders at a ceremony in Lucknow.

BJP leader, Om Prakash Singh, while addressing the mediapersons about the main points of the manifesto said: "The government will form a commission to probe the scams that had taken place during the rule of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Action will be taken against those who are found guilty by the commission and their properties will be seized," he said.

Singh also added that if voted to power his party would ensure that a state ombudsman would be endowed with more powers.

"The Bharatiya Janata Party will increase the powers of the Lokayukta and will make it stronger. Arrangements will be made so that the Lokayukta can initiate proceedings against the public servants. The Chief Minister will also be brought under the purview of the Lokayukta. We shall take such steps to establish good governance," added Singh.

The BJP leader stated that there was need to introduce agricultural reforms and they would prepare a separate budget for the agriculture sector in the state.

"It will be for the first time that farmers would be given loans at one percent interest. Farmers' loans of upto rupees one lakh will be cancelled. Electricity would be provided for agricultural purposes for 24 hours. Policies would be formulated to ease the burden of the farmer and make his profession easier," he said.

He stated that the party would concentrate on the increased usage of natural fertilizers for farming as against artificial ones which tend to damage the crops.

Singh also mentioned that the party would take measures to provide better health facilities in the state.
