Cross border bonhomie marks India's 63rd Republic Day in Amritsar

Amritsar, Jan.26 (ANI): Strengthening camaraderie between India and Pakistan, personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers exchanged best wishes and sweets on the occasion of India's 63rd Republic Day on Thursday.

 

Visitors at the Wagah - Attari Border in Punjab danced to patriotic songs.

 

"There has been a pleasant atmosphere and people have gathered here in large numbers. It would result in strengthening of friendship and the good wishes would also brighten the future," said a tourist, Om Prakash Sharma.

 

Troops belonging to BSF and the Pakistan Rangers also greeted each other along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

The personnel hoped that this would strengthen the cross border friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

 

The Republic Day is observed to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution on 26 January 1950. (ANI)
