Melbourne, Jan 24(ANI): Roger Federer stormed into his 30th grand slam semi- final beating Argentinean Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets in an Australian Open quarter-final clash on Tuesday.
The win moves the Swiss tennis ace a step closer to his 17th Grand Slam title and fifth Australian Open crown.
He already holds the record for the maximum singles titles in tennis. He thrashed Del Potro 6-4 6-3 6-2 in less than two hours, The Age reports.
Federer played flawless tennis throughout and he is now, only one short of Jimmy Connors' record of 31 Grand Slam semi-final appearances. (ANI)
