London, Jan 22 (ANI): Mario Balotelli, who has had a series of controversies surrounding him, will have his life story made into a musical for a new opera show.
Composer Patrick Knowles plans to write the work about the Manchester City player, who has earned cult status among the Blues fans for his antics.
The first piece of the musical has already been penned and is called 'Balotelli - Why Always Me?'
It was inspired by the T-shirt worn by the Italian striker during City's 6-1 derby win over United at Old Trafford last October.
Knowles, 65, from Stockport, Cheshire, says the full opera is still in an "embryonic" state.
But he believes it could be as big a hit as 'Jerry Springer: The Opera', which was based on the American talk show host.
The musical will highlight some of the 21-year-old Italian's antics including handing over 1,000 pounds to a homeless person after landing 25,000 pounds at a casino.
Patrick describes himself as "the biggest City fan in the world."
"We'd tell his story from the start - it's fantastic," the Daily Star quoted Knowles as saying.
"It could be the biggest thing since Jerry Springer.
"By normal standards he's crazy but people haven't had his experience.
"Now he does things like go to a casino and hands some of his winnings to a tramp. To put that to music would be amazing
"You couldn't write this kind of thing. It's a gift from heaven.
"I don't think there's any bad blood in him.
"I'd hope to improve the image of Mario Balotelli," he added. (ANI)
