I want to be a healthier person, says heaviest entrant on 'Biggest Loser'

Melbourne, Jan 22 (ANI): A contestant from Australia on 'Biggest Loser', who weighs more than any other contestant in the reality show's history, has insisted that the weight he loses this time will stay off for good.

Ryan Preuss, who tips the scales at an incredible 240kg and is heavier than any entrant even from the United States and United Kingdo, consumes a whopping 42,000 calories a week.

This equals to three times as many as an average man binging on 1.25 litre bottles of soft drink, 1.3kg tubs of ice cream, family-size servings of takeaway and multiple chocolate bars and bags of chips.

"I was absolutely gutted when I found out I was the biggest," News.com.au quoted him as saying.

"It's soul-destroying to hear. It's not something to be proud of," he said.

The 29-year-old call centre worker knew he was eating too much, but he said he lacked the willpower to stop.

"Eating made me feel good.

"Deep down you know it's wrong but I didn't care. I think I just let myself go," he said.

The over-eating was only made worse by a lack of exercise. The only exercise he did each day was walking from the train station to his office less than 500m.

He said he previously lost 65kg from working out with a personal trainer friend, but when his mother endured a lengthy stay in hospital he stopped exercising and piled those kilos, and then some, back on.

This time, however, Preuss said the weight he loses on 'Biggest Loser' will stay off for good.

"I'm going to be a healthier person.

"I won't go back to what I was," he added. (ANI)
