Harish Khare resigns as PM's media advisor

New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): Media Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Harish Khare, resigned today after holding the post for more than two years.

 

Khare, a former print journalist, sent his resignation to the Prime Minister after former television journalist Pankaj Pachauri was appointed as Communication Advisor in the PMO.

 

As media advisor, Khare held the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.

 

Before joining the PMO, Khare was senior associate editor and Chief of Bureau in The Hindu in New Delhi.

 

A PMO announcement today said that Pachauri, who was working as managing editor of NDTV India, will advise the PMO on communications strategies on print, electronic and social media and will report to the Prime Minster's Principal Advisor, Pulok Chatterjee. (ANI)
