Johannesburg, Jan 18(ANI): Former Cricket South Africa president Norman Arendse has claimed that the harm the current bonus saga has inflicted on the image of cricket in South Africa could be worse than the Hansie Cronje's bribery scam.
Cronje had received bribes during the 1990's to influence the outcome of matches.
Reports claim that Arendse has told Judge Chris Nicholson, who heads the inquiry into CSA's bonus scandal, that thus present fiasco has already cost CSA between 10 and 12 million Rands.
He also requested that all responsible people should be dealt with firmly.
Last year, only CSA CEO Gerald Majola confessed that he had hadn't disclosed his bonuses of 1.8 million Rands, which he received from the Indian Premier League and the Champions League in 2009, Sports24 reports.
Arendse also claimed that an acting CEO should be put in place till the time an independent disciplinary committee hands over its results.

Arendse accused Majola of safeguarding the interests of the sponsors and the national team due to it being the main source of the CSA's income. (ANI)
