Adelaide Test may be Haddin's last opportunity

Adelaide, Tue, 17 Jan 2012 ANI

Adelaide, Jan 17(ANI): Under pressure Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin's cricketing career is expected to be over if he fails to perform in the fourth Test match against India at Adelaide.

Haddin has performed poorly in recent times and has only managed to average below twenty during last three Test series.

His most recent duck against India in the third Test match at the Perth has taken his average to a mere 11 against India this summer.

Haddin's poor wicket-keeping has also come under fire after he dropped few catches in recent Test matches.

The lack of foot movement is being credited for his poor performances during batting as well as wicket-keeping, telegraph.com.au reports.

The struggling wicket-keeper is part of an unchanged Australian squad for the last Test match.

Victorian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade could be given a plethora of chances during next month's one-day series to present his case for selection before the West Indies tour.

Wade is already Australia's Twenty20 wicket-keeper due to Tim Paine's lengthy finger injury, and is expected to be Australia's one-day wicket-keeper as well.

Haddin is not playing Twenty20 internationals for Australia so he isn't expected to be a part of the T20 World Cup in September.

The 50-over World Cup would transpire in 2015; therefore selectors are keeping new faces in mind. (ANI)
