London, Jan 16 (ANI): A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an Indian-origin couple in Birmingham.
British police is questioning the 41-year-old over the murder of Avtar Kolar, 62, and his wife Carole, 58, whose bodies were discovered on Wednesday by their son Jason Kolar, a serving officer with West Midlands Police, The Telegraph reports.
Earlier, a 24-year-old was arrested by police investigating the murder.
Post-mortem tests have confirmed that the couple, who had been married for 40 years, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head and that both had been struck a number of times.
The arrests came after two of the couple's four children made a desperate plea for help to catch their parents' killers.
According to the report, over 60 officers have been assigned to the case and Richard Baker, who is leading the murder investigation, has vowed to work "around the clock" to find the couple's killers.
Police have repeatedly refused to speculate about a motive for the murders, but said detectives are looking into a number of lines of inquiry, including a rise in burglaries and gold thefts in the area. (ANI)
