London, Jan.16 (ANI): Stand-in Manchester United skipper Patrice Evra has asked main rivals Manchester City to forget about the Premier League title this year, because the "Reds" are almost certain to retain it.
He was speaking after the Red Devils followed up their FA Cup win over City the previous weekend by beating Bolton 3-0 on Saturday to go joint top on points with their neighbours.
The Sun quoted Evra, as saying: "It was an important game, after the win against City, to show we are really confident and we are back. Everyone's coming back and in great form."
He added: "We still have some injuries but when everyone is fit, it will give us the strength to win the title. We need to rest and focus on the next game. We're going to win the league."
Saturday's victory saw Paul Scholes grab the first goal right on half-time. It was his first league goal at Old Trafford since February 2009 - and came a week after he returned from retirement.
Michael Carrick, who got United's third against Bolton, revealed how much he had learned down the years from Scholes.
Danny Welbeck limped off after scoring United's second on Saturday but will be ready for their game at Arsenal on Sunday. (ANI)
