Patil in Chhattisgarh on two-day trip

Raipur, Sep 28 (IANS) President Pratibha Patil arrived here Sunday evening by a special Indian Air Force aircraft on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh.

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister Raman Singh, several of his ministerial colleagues and Raipur mayor Sunil Soni received Patil at the Mana airport.

The president will stay at the Raj Bhawan. She will attend the golden jubilee function of a girls' degree college here Monday evening.

She is also scheduled to visit the state's southern Bastar district's famous sightseeing site, Chitrakote waterfalls on the Indravati river, some 340 km from here, Monday before leaving for the national capital late in the evening, officials said.
