Ahmedabad, Sep 27 (IANS) 'Of Modi, by Modi and for Modi.' That is how a Congress leader has described the Nanavati Commission's report on the Godhra train burning tragedy of 2002.
P. Sudhakar Reddy, All India Congress Committee secretary and in charge of the party's affairs in Gujarat, told mediapersons here Saturday evening that considering the reaction of the former National Human Rights Commission chief, Justice J.S. Verma and former senior Gujarat police official R.B. Sreekumar, 'one can understand what sort of a report has been submitted by the Nanavati-Mehta Commission'.
The inquiry panel in the report, submitted to Chief Minister Narendra Modi last week and tabled in the assembly Thursday, concluded that the fire in a coach of the Sabarmati Express at Godhra town on the morning of Feb 27, 2002, was not accidental but pre-planned.
Reddy, on a four-day tour of the state, Saturday visited Surendranagar district. He said he was shocked to see the devastation caused by rains in Lakhtar, Dasada and Limbdi sub-districts there.
