Amritsar, Oct. 21 (ANI): Pakistan's former Member of Parliament Rai Azizullah Khan has urged the Government of India and Pakistan to bring about basic reforms in visa regulations, to enable people living on both sides of the border to come close to each other.
Azizullah Khan had come to India to visit his ancestral town Raikot.
He recalled that in 1705, the 10th spiritual master of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh had gifted "Ganga Sagar" a relic to the ancestors of Rai Aziz Ullah Khan for the hospitality extended by the then Muslim rulers to him.han, during his interaction with journalists here, advocated the visa reforms for the people living on either side of the border.
"Confidence building can be achieved only if the general public could meet and share each others' feelings," he stated.
Khan said he firmly believed that the people of both the countries want bilateral relations between India and Pakistan to improve.
He hoped that the government of both countries would sit together and find ways and means for establishing better relations so that the coming generations would live in peace and in friendly conditions.
Khan extended his gratitude to the people of Punjab who, he said, gave him love and warmth during his visits to Raikot. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
