Building collapse kills nine in Veraval

Veraval (Gujarat), Aug 9 (ANI): Nine people were killed when a two-storeyed building collapsed near Veraval city in Gujarat this morning.

The incident took place at 3.15 a.m at Prabhas Patan, about seven kilometers from Veraval.

The National Disaster Response Force, which reached the site within half-an-hour, pulled the victims' bodies out of the debris.

Residents said incessant rains in the area over the past few days could have weakened the structure, which was over 60 years old. (ANI)
