Melbourne, Aug 1 (ANI): International Cricket Council chairman-elect Alan Isaac has denied that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) led bloc dominated the sport.
"It's not actually like that. As chairman of KPMG, four times a year I met as part of the Asia-Pacific board so you get a bit used to dealing with people from different countries who approach things differently. You just find a way to work through to achieve the common goal," he said.
Isaac said his vast business background has given him confidence that he can be a proactive leader and negotiate the dominant Afro-Asian bloc when he joins the eclectic governing body, The Age reports.
Isaac replaced John Howard as Australasia's nomination to become ICC vice-president this year and president from 2012 after the former Australian Prime Minister was twice rebuffed by world bodies.
Isaac spent 35 years with KPMG, including a decade as chairman, and is chairman of New Zealand Cricket. He also sits on golf and rugby boards in New Zealand.
Isaac also said that he wants to strengthen the credibility of the ICC and improve its governance. Isaac must be officially nominated to the ICC by August 31, with ratification expected to be a formality. (ANI)
