Lucknow July 10 (ANI): Business giant Sahara displayed a replica of Queen's Baton for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow city on Saturday.
Lucknow District Magistrate Anil Sagar said the team had made a prototype or duplicate of Queen's Baton and were heading towards Sahara city.
"The entire procession was moving towards Rae Bareli, when it was noticed that five cars turned from Banderiya intersection towards Raj Bhawan. The five cars were chased and stopped, as the deflecting of any car from the procession was objectionable," said Sagar.
"All the five cars were investigated after which it was brought to our notice that three ladies left their official vehicle and used a private vehicle to go to Sahara city," he added.
Sagar termed this incident as highly insulting act for Lucknow city as well as for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
"We are Contemplating legal action and looking for further investigation and immediately we have decided that we will tell about the incident to the Indian government and would request to investigate the matter and take legal actions," he claimed.
The queen's baton reached Lucknow city on July 9 and was handed over to the State Olympic Association General Secretary Anandeshwar Pandey. (ANI)
