Kargil, June 6 (ANI): Residents of Jammu and Kashmir's Kargil district are looking forward with expectation towards the proposed visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Singh will be on a two-day visit to the state from Monday and is expected to visit Kargil district.
The residents are demanding that a tunnel should be built across the Zojila pass in Drass town so that their town is accessible even during the winters.
"We have a lot of demands like about Zojila tunnel. We expect that the Prime Minister will tour Kargil and help resolve our problems," said Gulzar Ahmad.
They also believe that the unemployed youth in the area should get an opportunity to be a part of security forces so that they can safeguard their territory themselves.
"We expect that from the Prime Minister's visit all the problems we are facing will get the due recognition. The area will be developed and the developmental and social sector will get an upliftment," Sajad Hussain.
This will be Singh's second visit to Jammu and Kashmir after being re-elected as Prime Minister for a second consecutive term. He visited Srinagar in last October. (ANI)
