Srinagar, June 1 (ANI): Activists and supporters of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) took part in a torch light procession here on Monday to protest against alleged fake encounter in which Indian Army personnel killed three innocent civilians.
JKLF chief Yasin Malik led the procession from the JKLF headquarters at Maisuma after evening prayers.
"This torch rally is a procession against the fake encounter of the innocent lives and against the human rights violations. On this occasion I want to convey the message to the people that the people of Kashmir are peace loving and try to establish peace and system, who have witnessed the transition from violence to non-violence movement. But, still due to awards and promotion innocent people are killed," said Malik.
On April 30, security forces had claimed that they had killed three infiltrators and recovered five AK-47 rifles, ammunition and Pakistani currency from them in the Machalli sector.
According to reports, the Jammu and Kashmir Police found that the men killed by the security forces were actually innocent civilians, who were reported missing from a village in Baramulla District.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. (ANI)
