Bhalan (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 29 (ANI): Locals celebrated the traditional Beeth Fair in Bhalan village here around 40 kilometres away from Himachal Pradesh's Kullu town.

They offered prayers to Lord Lakshminarayan and made a chariot out of the famous 'cha cha' flowers of the region.

This festival is celebrated on the 15th day of Baisakhi, the harvest month according to the Hindu calendar.

"This festival is celebrated as a symbol of Devasur Sangram (war for holy nectar between gods and the demons in Hindu mythology), as clearly mentioned in the Vedas and Hindu Epics.

This is celebrated on the 15th day of the Baisakhi (Harvest Festival) month according to the Hindu calendar," said Bhimsen Sharma, a priest.

Hundreds of devotes participated in the fair and tried to get the beeth (a small thick hoop made of flowers) as a symbol of blessing from God. (ANI)
