Ranchi, Apr 9 (ANI): Following Tuesday's Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada District, Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Neyaz Ahmed and state Home Secretary J B Tubid convened a meeting of police officials in Ranchi on Friday to discuss its impact.
DGP Neyaz said that security forces are on high alert in the state following the attack in neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
He also said that they would further activate their intelligence wing to keep a tab on the Maoists activities.
"After Dantewada, our priority is now to alert all our forces and they are on alert. Whatever operations we are conducting or are going to conduct, there are two precautions, which we need to take and will do that," said Ahmed.
"We will further activate our intelligence wing so that we get prior information about such happenings," he added.
The DGP further said the offensive against the rebels is still on, but these are 'individualised operations'.
"Operations are going on but only individualised operations with individualised targets," said Ahmed.
Seventy-six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed by the Maoists in an ambush in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada District on Tuesday, which is considered to be the most brutal attack ever by the rebels. (ANI)
