Nov 15: The rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) is all set with host of international cricketing stars, including West Indies batting great Brian Lara and former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq, to get into action from November 30 with its high-profile Twenty20 endeavour at Panchkula near Chandigarh.
The ICL authorities on Wednesday announced the six teams as Mumbai Champs, Delhi Jets, Chennai Superstars, Hyderabad Heroes, Kolkata Tigers and Chandigarh Lions.
According to an ICL press release, a total of Twenty-four international players consisting six South African, five Pakistani, four from England and New Zealand, two from Sri Lanka and Ireland and one Australian have been evenly divided in the six teams.
Apart from Lara and Inzamam, the list of international cricketers include Stuart Law, Chris Cairns, Craig McMillan, Abdul Razzaq, Taufeeq Umar and Shabbir Ahmed of Pakistan, Australia's Ian Harvey, South Africa's Johan Van der Wath, Lance Klusener, Nicky Boje and Andrew Hall, New Zealand's Nathan Astle, Chris Harris and Daryl Tuffey and England's Vikram Solanki and Sri Lanka's Russel Arnold and Upul Chandana.
Former India coaches Sandeep Patil and Madan Lal have been appointed as the coaches of the Mumbai Champs and Delhi Jets while Balwinder Singh Sandhu will coach Chandigarh Lions. Former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan, former South African batsman Darryl Cullinan and Australian one-day specialist Michael Bevan will be the coaches of Hyderabad Heroes, Kolkata Tigers and Chennai Superstars respectively.
However, ICL think-tank did not disclose the names of the players who will lead the respective teams.
According to the chairman of the ICL's executive board Kapil Dev, "We have ensured the teams are balanced in every way and receive the best facilities in terms of coaching, showcasing their talent and exposure to international cricket."
"I wish all the players best of luck for the tournament," Kapil added.
All the teams will take part in a pre-tournament practice camp starting from tomorrow in their respective cities. This camp will help all the players to gel together as a team prior to the start of this mega-event.

Kapil keep it up, good move to start ICL. I am sure the selection of players will be purly on merits.
ICL Can make another India team with better players.

There are many good Ranji cricketers in India, who has taken retirement from first class cricket,could not played for India bad luck to them, these experience players can be given chance by ICL to coach the players in their respecitive states.
